Sound Healing
What is sound Healing?
Let us first look at the word HEALING, what is healing? the verb Heal, is to make free of dis-ease, to make whole. To patch up or correct.
Sound Healing Therapy is an ancient sound medicine healing practice that works with the vibrational healing quality of sound, using various instruments to bring about health, balance, peace and to invoke a state of relaxation. Everything in the universe, including the human body, is made up of vibration and different frequencies, and through this practice we are looking to restore these back to harmony, clearing any blockages, shifting any imbalances and bringing you back into ease, attuning you to your natural rhythm. These practices work with the energy centres of the body (the chakras), as well as the brain waves encouraging a deeper state of relaxation and stimulating the bodies own natural healing abilities.
The Healing Power of Sound has been an integral part of Human civilization for thousands of years. We live in a Vibratory Universe where there is no such thing as Matter. Everything we sense and feel and see and touch is pure Energy, tiny, denser bits of energy which we call particles, vibrating according to the Laws of Creation.
What is it?
Whether it's Mozart or Motown, music affects us all in different ways. But on a fundamental level, music is just organised sound. Sound therapy deconstructs music into pure sound, harnessing the knowledge that sound can have a powerful effect on our emotions.
Sound therapists believe that we are all made up of different energy frequencies. They use sound frequencies to interact with these, thus attempting to rebalance the body's energy.
Before each session, the practitioner will ask the client about their medical history and any current health problems. The practitioner will then adapt their treatment accordingly, using relaxing or stimulating sounds to try to rebalance the body - gongs, drums, bells, bowls, tuning forks and the human voice are all used.
Sound, as vibration, organizes matter into regular forms. Human beings are great conductors of sound as we are mainly composed of water. The brain and heart are 73% water, the lungs 83%, the skin 64%, muscles and kidneys 79%, and even our bones are 31% water. Is it no wonder then that we respond so readily to sound? We can imagine that as therapeutic sound moves through us it organises and regulates at a cellular level.
You will bathed in sound and vibration using one or many instruments including Alchemy Crystal Bowls, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Hang Dum, tuning forks and more. What you receive during your session will be totally unique to you and aligned with what you need in that moment.
